The Astrophotograph of the Month for January

This composite of three galaxies is a result of work by STAR member Gordon Waite
that represents the next step in his ability to image deep sky objects with his astrophotography equipment.
Gordon obtained these images with his Meade 10" SCT, and his Starlight Express CCD camera.
He used his scope in equatorial mode with a new wedge for the first time,
and reports that results are somewhat easier to obtain with this setup
than with the usual LX-200 alt-azimuth, computerized drive system.
Processing was with Meade software,
but rumor has it that Gordon is now in possession of some advanced software by Maxim.
Gordon's photographs can be seen at his Web Site.
